SEED COLLECTING
“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.”

~ Henry David Thoreau

Seed collecting normally takes place mid-summer to late fall. Location varies depending on seed type desired. Task includes raking seed heads off plants with hands and placing harvested seed into paper bags. Moderate activity involving a fair amount of walking. Participants need to wear hiking type clothing (no shorts), durable shoes/boots, hat, and safety glasses. Easier to harvest seed heads without gloves. Typical activity 3-4 hours.
